Diego is a bright and cunning colt. Energetic around the barn and always on the move, the chestnut can always be counted on to be up to something, whether that be foiling the attempts of his grooms to catch him in the paddock to plotting his escape from his stall. Though he typically never steps out of line and acts the complete gentlemen most of the time, Diego hates being cooped up for hours at a time and can become quite hot-headed if not given the chance to roam the paddock and work his energy off. This is the kind of horse that thrives off of working out and needs to be given exercise of some sort every day. Diego is often a playful horse. He enjoys playing games with both horse and human, things like where-did-the-brush-go and catch-me-if-you-can. He is an aggressive, territorial horse's worst nightmare, as Diego will wind them up and play the victim once caught. Diego considers annoying others to be a fun game and likes to play for as long as possible just to see how long it'll take the poor focus of his attentions to crack. When not trying to break down his stall door or escape the paddock, Diego can be found spreading hay all over his stall in order to stay amused. He likes to take full hay bales and completely disassemble before eating them. This playful stallion definitely leaves quite the impression with his antics.
Leg Type: Variable
Diego is all hot-headed energy on the track. He winds up the crowd by giving jockey and outrider a complete handful from paddock to the starting gate. The best way to handle him is to let him act out and give him not an ounce of extra attention, as he'll quickly grow bored and focus on the task at hand - racing. Diego is an incredibly versatile runner. Pick any spot in the field for him and he'll comfortably slot in and await instruction, making him an ideal mount for new jockey Sam Johnston to take on. Though able to lead as comfortably as he can close, Diego is perhaps best when placed along the rail and leading the pack. He likes to see where all of the other horses in the field are and the rail allows for the quickest journey regardless of where he is in the field. He hates being on the outside of the field, though there appears to be no actual reason for this - just a quirk. Diego enjoys racing as another way to stay amused and burn off his energy at the same time. He takes the game seriously and will put one hundred percent forward every time, though he is definitely not the kind of horse that holds grudges or any of the sort on the track. In fact, more serious-minded and aggressive horses are types Diego enjoys winding up and then thoroughly beating - he's more likely to put forward even more effort than usual just to be an annoyance, as he gets a true kick out of playing that role.
