Demon Prince is one heck of a hot-blooded horse. With many proven generations of racehorses and producers in his blood, Prince is the culmination of many years of breeding - and it shows, from his flawless conformation to his keen attitude towards anything representing an athletic pursuit. Prince's sire was arrogant and fast; Prince's dam was energetic, demanding and fast; Prince brings all of this together. He is never calm, always on the move, and he is exceedingly arrogant, feeling himself to be under nobody's command. He, like Sha, likes to do only what he wants; you can't afford to show weakness around him, or he will take advantage of you. Unlike Sha, he is not a brutal horse; in fact, he is highly intelligent and prefers to resort to other measures in order to get what he wants. Highly reticent, Prince uses his eyes and his teeth to do his talking. Nobody messes with Prince, which lets him keep his regal bearing at all times and thus do quite fine for himself. Prince tends to avoid other horses, preferring his or the barn cat's company. He doesn't like noise, but when it comes to the track he definitely tolerates it. Prince enjoys giving his humans a hard time, whether that be towing them around or somehow dodging them in the paddock at every turn. He is cunning, quick-footed, and possesses a powerful sort of grace that catches the eye. Prince is always alert and just about never tired. He likes to move around and work and cannot be kept in his stall for too long. He enjoys being groomed, but that's about all he likes to get from humans. Ever the loner, Prince holds court by driving other horses away and then watching them from afar, like a king on a hill.
Leg Type: Closer
This horse knows how to work and absolutely loves to. While some other horses may drag their hooves and refuse to move, Demon Prince is the exact opposite. He is famous for taking his jockey to the track rather than the other way around. Once there, Prince takes his sweet time sizing up his competition and getting a feel for the turf under his hooves. He loves to run and will do so under any condition and with just about any rider on his back, though of course he works best with his regular jockey. During the post-parade, Prince makes a calm and elegant picture alongside his pony. He never gets worked up and always looks in control, which tends to get favoritism handed to him within minutes of his appearance. He loads like a professional and breaks like a shot, but he always drops to the back of the field immediately. Prince, surprisingly, is a drama king. He likes to drop off the field by a length or two - sometimes even five - and bide his time until the final turn. Halfway through it, a visible change comes over this horse. He fires up and charges forward, almost as though he only just started running. He weaves through the field, bearing down on the outside if necessary and then weaving around them down the final stretch. Despite his late move, Prince's acceleration is incredible. He typically manages to clinch the lead at the top of the stretch and then rolls away, going from last to far in first in the blink of an eye. All his jockey needs to do is get this colt clear and then hang on for the ride. Prince likes to win and does so in style, using the blinding speed that he has inherited from his ancestors to bring it home in fashion while making it look easy.
