Born of two Hall Of Famers, Tura has a reputation to live up to. Her sire, The Natural, won the Breeder's Cup Turf in his time and was one of the top turf stallions around. Her dam, Wild Flower, was the two time winner of the Best Turf Horse award and won more than thirty races in her lifetime. Both horses were fans of mile to long distance races and both enjoyed the turf, and they have passed these qualities on to Tura.
Tura is a sassy, wild filly with a very flirtacious attitude. She'll vy to gain the attention of any living creature she meets, first prancing in a very showy fashion and then bugling in a way only a deaf creature could ignore. She's extremely hard to handle because of this, but with the right rider in the saddle - that rider being Amber Black - she focuses after a bit of refocus exercises. This filly is by no means the alpha. She may try to get the attention of every horse, but she'll never try to lead them. She's very dependent on others for survival, and can't stand to be alone. As long as there's a horse nearby she'll be good and won't get depressed. When it comes to bravery, Tura is one of the first horses to come to mind. She'll never back down and will fight for her rights, but once again she'll never fight for the dominance, even when challenged. She could survive as being the lowest ranking member of the pasture bunch, as long as she gets food and care. The one thing about this filly that could get you off guard is how she'll interact with others. If the interaction won't go well you have to see this ahead of time and avoid the situation at all costs. Tura is by no means good at fighting other horses, and is very fragile and weak in that respect, which feeds into her avoidance of domination.
Leg Type: Closer
Tura is a good old fashioned closer. She'll break just as fast as the rest but prefers a spot at least five lengths off the leader, unless the pace is too fast to allow for this. She'll make her move by the final turn, or sometimes before depending on how far ahead the field is. She doesn't mind being in last, but needs to be prodded more when running in order to take the win. The thing that makes this filly go is her love of speed, and she's got lots of it. She needs her attention focused completely on running for happiness instead of the win, also seen as the dominance to her, and then she'll pull through. She's not afraid of the gate, but will try for as much attention as possible before going in. Tura will always listen to her jockey, but she can also make her own decisions in races when she has to. She has a wide, beautiful gallop that eats up ground, an advantage to her racing and another reason why she loves to run so much.
