Name: Brain Trust Link To Page: click Sire: DW Flamekissed Dam: Finale Slew Notable Siblings Through Sire: Wild Kiss Notable Siblings Through Dam: Crescential, Screaming Mimi (daughter of Crescential), Intuition, Jazzman, Livin' The Jazz, Jazzaway and Jazzasoleil. Pedigree Comments: At first glance, Brain Trust's pedigree is not much of a standout, but if you dig deeper and glance into Finale Slew, you realize that this plain brown wrapper is a jewel in disguise. His sire, DW Flamekissed, is a half-brother to GM Triumph. DW Flamekissed finished third in the Y6 Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf behind G3 Gorgeous George and future Hall of Famer, The True Nut. He won the Iasis, Kaniska and Desert Prince Stakes and was very consistent, finishing only seven times out of the money in his brief career as a race horse. He has proved formidable in his stud career though not a clear cut standout. His only foal racing is currently Wild Kiss, a grade two race filly for Stride of Perfection Stables. Wild Kiss has won the Y12 Girly Cup, the Grade Four Turf in the GHF Stable Face Off, the Y10 Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, the Fluffy Cup, and the Y11 Unicorn Horn Fillies. Wild Kiss also finished second in the Y11 Preakness Champion Stakes and Y11 Belmont Turf Classic. DW Flamekissed's other filly on the ground is Summer Romance, out of Ashanti dam of Justa Muffin, grade four race horse Ashes to Ashes and Oak Hill Farm's This Means War. Summer Romance, like Brain Trust will begin her race career in Year Fourteen. On Brain's dam's side, Finale Slew, Brain is related to Crescential, Intuition, Jazzman, Livin' The Jazz, Jazzaway, and Jazzasoleil. Crescential was a grade one race horse who won the MHS Dawn Treader Cup, the Barbaro Stakes and the Pegasus Stakes. He is the sire of grade three, four year old filly Screaming Mimi, who finished second in the Year Seven Breeders Cup Marathon. Jazzman is a grade one stallion owned by Akita Rose Stable who won the Breeders Cup Mile, two versions of the Seaspray Cup, The Melbourne Cup, and the Autumn Cup. He is the sire of the grade five two year old Livin The Jazz, who finished second in the Unicorn Horn Juvenile Turf, the Magic Millions Colts Turf and third in the Follow the Hoofprints Turf at The Wire. Jazzaway recently broke his maiden for Akita Rose Stables and finished third in the Wire Finish Cup Juvenile Mile. Jazzasoleil is a weanling at this point in time. Brain Trust took second in the Best Bred Tournment Classic Turf Weanlings at Stride of Perfection Stables.

Name: Dragonheart Link To Page: HereSire: HoF Everyday Hero Dam: Made in Manhattan Notable Siblings Through Sire: Vindictive Fury, Strictly a Hero, Wish Upon a Star, Wishing for a Heroine, Everyday Smile, Majestic Hero, Taboo, Black Zephyr Notable Siblings Through Dam: Manhattan Royalty, Cityscape Pedigree Comments: Draco as some excellent bloodlines and let's begin with his sire. After his retirement he went to stud over nine foals including Draco all expected for greatness. Draco is Made in Manhattan's second foal, being a half brother to Manhattan Royalty who is now in his prospect career. Manhattan retired as a grade 2 with a record of 30-11-4-2. Name: Black Magic Link To Page: HereSire: Warlock Dam: No Wonder Notable Siblings Through Sire: Beltane, Axis Mundae, Samhain, Wicca Notable Siblings Through Dam: None Pedigree Comments: Black Magic is sired by the impressive Grade Two stallion, Warlock - a dual surfaced stud who ran distances over a mile. He had a strong career, and after retiring to the breeding barn proved himself by siring twins Axis Mundae and Beltane - two fillies who have performed extremely well on the track at the highest levels. Houdini is the first colt to be sired by this stud, and it is hoped that he can live up to the achievements of his father and beyond. No Wonder is a daughter of Merry Bay King who, despite failing to perform well on the track, has the lines to produce some real champions. No Wonder, unlike Warlock, is a calm mare and so it is hoped that her gentler nature might mellow Houdini out a little. Through his mother, Houdini is related to many great horses including the Triple Crown champion, Impressario.

win Black Magic place Brain Trust show Dragonheart
Dragonheart has some lovely lines, but not filled with turf greatness. I found a lot more turf than dirt through his sire Everyday Hero, and that got him third place here. Black Magic and Brain Trust are really hard to decide between. Brain Trust is related to Wild Kiss and is backed by some solid turf connections on the dam side. However, Black Magic is very solidly a turf horse and has a lot of router blood through his dam. Beltane is perhaps Warlock's only foal incapable of going at least nine furlongs, so this did not detract as much from the overall classic turf theme. In the end, I judged off of personaltiy and went with Black Magic. Though ask me tomorrow and I might say Brain Trust xD
The reserve to Wild Kiss goes to Alexia!
