Name: Call Me Crooked Link To Page: clickSire: Crooked Fire Dam: Royal Assault Notable Siblings Through Sire: Sweet Inferno, Ashes to Ashes Notable Siblings Through Dam: Calamity Queen, Prima Donna Pedigree Comments: Crook's lines show an unusual amount of precociousness in the two year old season. Her sire, Crooked Fire was a good horse overall, but absolutely brilliant in his two year old season. He won the Summer Cup, the Gallop to the Gallows Stakes, a race in the GHF's Stable Face Off, the Azalea Cup, the Garnet Stakes and the Breeder's Cup Juvenile. He went from maiden to grade three all in one season. He did not have as successful a season as a three year old and only won two unimportant races. Her sire has proven to be quite the catch. Ashes to Ashes went from maiden to grade two all in his three year old season, while little sister, Sweet Inferno, notched enough victories to enter grade four territory. In Year Thirteen Ashes to Ashes became a grade one horse and won the Cigar Mile at The Wire. Sweet Inferno proved that a little distance never hurt anyone and took the Belmont Stakes. Royal Assault also was a precocious two year old, quite a rare one too because large horses usually come along later in their careers. She won five races in her 21 race career with only four out of the money placings. Among her wins were the Fantasy Cup, the Dona Bella Stakes, and the Desert Princess Stakes. She finished second in the Breeder's Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf behind top turf filly/mare Striking Motion. Royal Assault was named year six's best grade four. She only has two other foals to date, Calamity Queen who is owned by Star Thoroughbreds. Calamity Queen, by Touch Up, won the Cotillion Stakes, a leg in the Turf Triple Tiara, and the Secretariat Stakes. Her second filly Prima Donna won the Wire Finish Cup Turf Mile and is one of the top turf milers in the country at this point.

win Sweet Like Sugar place Call Me Crooked
To me, the bloodlines were no contest here. I'm actually pretty surprised that Call Me Crooked is even entered here - she seems to me to be more of a classic distance horse and I'm surprised that she runs 6-9 furlongs xD Call Me Crooked has got pure distance connections, while Sweet Like Sugar is just beautifully lined for the sprints.
Congratulations to Sarah on winning the reserve to Sugar Jayde!
