Pedigree Comments: Popcorn Blitz was on the verge of hitting grade four when he was retired halfway through his four year old season. Blitzen was as sound as an ox and just about as fierce as one on the track. He always managed to get in a fight on the front end and would not give up until he managed to burn himself out. Blitzen won the Y12 Boys Festival, an important race at GHF, determining who enters the Star Festival. Burn's grandsire on Popcorn Blitz's side is HOF Speed Demon. Speed Demon won the Boys Festival, the Starshine Sprint, the Star Festival in years five and six, the Unicorn Horn Sprint in Y7, the Y7 Buttercup Sprint, the Y7 Flying Colours Memorial Stakes and the Y7 Breeders Cup Sprint. Along with Popcorn Blitz, Speed Demon is the sire of top two year old colt Mastermind, out of HOF El Sol del Mar and prospect colt Demonic Desires, out of HOF Deadly Desires. Starbucks, Popcorn Blitz's dam, is also the dam of grade four race horse Cosmic Warfare from Intrepid Racing. Ashanti is Burning Blitz's dam. Ashanti has so far proven to be a very effective broodmare as well as a race horse. Ashanti was a grade one runner on the racetrack, however, her records were lost in the transfer of ownerships. Ashanti is the dam of Justa Muffin, owned by Star Thoroughbreds, winner of a Preakness Champion Stakes and the Prince Cup, Ashes to Ashes, a rising star at Witch Creek as well, grade one winner of the Cigar Mile, and This Means War, a grade four colt campaigned by Oak Hill Farm. Ashanti gave birth to a young filly by DW Flamekissed who was named Summer Romance as well. Burns' pedigree is tough and filled with strong careers over many years. He looks to be very proficient in the mile and sprinting races at both Green Horse Fields and The Wire.}

Pedigree Comments: Bucephalus never broke his maiden because of his high temper and aggression that forced him to retire however, he did place in the Soprano Stakes and the Eclipse Stakes. While Bucephalus didn't do so well on the track, he did sire G4 Abastor, Shenanigans, and StarFire who both will start in their Prospect year this year. Bucephalus is the son to Augusto and Rosalind which makes the stallion the brother to MHS Triple Crown Winner Admiral's Revenge. As for Tatu's dam Declarate well, she is a Grade 5 mare who finally broke her maiden in her 4th year winning the Cherche Moi Maiden on The Wire. Where that was her only win she went to show in many of her races throughout her career. Her only other foal is Flashing the Declaration who will also start his prospect year this year.

I found the sprinting connections on Burning Blitz's side to be a lot stronger than the ones for Incitatus. True, you could distantly trace Incitatus to champion sprinter and miler Deadly Desires and the whole pack of Requiem's offspring, but Burning Blitz is by a direct sprinter out of a sprinting stallion legend in Speed Demon.
