Barely A Moment has proven to be quite rock solid racehorse and stud. He was a grade one racehorse and won the likes of the Breeders' Cup Mile, Dubai Colt Cup, Dubai World Championship, and finished second in the Breeders' Cup Classic. He is the sire of Sizzling Dawn, winner of the Y13 Preakness Stakes and grade one winner, and nearly grade three winner Barely Legal and grade five two year old Barely A Sound. His babies are capable of getting the classic distance and seem to do better as they age, the traits of a true classic horse.

El Sol Del Mar is a Hall Of Fame of quite worth. She is also a blue hen mare, producing three grade one winners, one Horse of the Year in Eternal Phantom, the winner of the Y12 Kentucky Derby and Y12 Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic. Midnight Thriller proved very good in long distance races, winning the These Old Bones Stakes and Valorizzarre Derby. She also finished second in the Donn Handicap and the Climax Cup. Mastermind, more influenced by his sire than El Sol Del Mar, is a sprinter of much prestige, being a two time Breeders' Cup race winner. He won the Summer Dawn Treader Cup over several notable classic distance runners. Sun King, El Sol del Mar's only offspring of racing age that is not a grade one, has shown the ability to stretch out to ten furlongs and be effective. He won the Legacy Dirt Stakes at ten furlongs and also won the Follow The Hoofprints Dirt Mile and and Prince Henry Stakes. With Barely A Moment's influence and Uno Momento's personality, it looks more than likely that El Sol del Mar has once again thrown a colt capable of relishing the classic distances.

Sylvanite and Tiger Heart both lacked some relations of note as compared to the top three, but still have solid pedigrees. Tiger Heart bottomed it out because his half brother Optimus is a sprinter-miler, and being his only significant relation I could pick up on this made him more suited in my mind perhaps for milers even if his distance preferences indicated otherwise.

Now the top three were extremely difficult to place. Uno Momento ended up being in third because unfortunately he is related to Mastermind and Sun King, two horses more like sprinter-milers. The other two had more solidly pedigreed classic dirt horses, though Uno Momento clearly has his share of them as well. Now, Night Visions versus Fire Goddess were ridiculous. If it was based on whose parents were more awesome, it would be Fire Goddess. However, Night Visions is sired by a very proven dirt horse in Night Stalker. Admirable's twin fillies have proven to be deadly classic dirt horses. So on the basis of relations, Night Visions takes this victory.
