Name: Red Hot Secret Link To Page: HereSire: Red HerringDam: Santana SecretNotable Siblings Through Sire: None Notable Siblings Through Dam: G1 Supernatural, G5 Santana's MomentPedigree Comments: Red Herring is a freshman sire, with currently no other foals on the ground. That doesn't mean he should be overlooked. This big red horse had a name on the track that everyone knew about, and he still lives up to that name today. He was nominated for a HOTY position and narrowly lost, and instead received an Encouragement Award, along with being nominated for Horse Of The Month twice; once in Y12 and another in Y14. Some of his notable wins include the Y12 Youth Challenge, Y12 Magic Millions Colts Dirt, Y13 Hollywood Gold Cup, Y13 Bank On Silver Memorial Stakes, Y13 and Y14 The Honorable Stakes, and the Y14 Winter Dawn Treader Cup. He narrowly missed the Y12 Breeders' Cup Juvenile, the Y13 Santa Anita Derby, and the Y14 Summer Dawn Treader Cup. Red Herring also had a chance to run in the Y13 Kentucky Derby and Y13 Belmont Stakes, both of which he placed third respectively. His owners at the time chose not to run him in the Preakness Stakes. He also placed third in the Y14 Breeder's Cup Classic, and was raced once in Y15 and placed third in the Y15 Dubai World Championship. His overall record was 54-19-14-16, with earnings over $7.3 million. His dam, Santana Secret, is a Grade Two winner of 10 of her 40 starts. Although her record is not one of the better ones, she raced at a time where things were structured differently. Some of her wins include the True Enough Memorial Cup, the Autumn Cup G4, and the BI Singing On Broadway Stakes. She was a close second in the Breeders Cup Distaff, year unknown. There is no doubt that this mare had the class and determination to get where she was today. She is the dam of G1 winning racehorse, Supernatural, who just recently retired after clinching her 19th win in the South Pacific Handicap. Red Hot Secret is not her first foal, but is one of her last, and will surely be one to watch.

win Authentic Aura place Night Terror show Red Hot Secret
Authentic Aura's pedigree has a lot of depth to it. So does Night Terror's. It was hard to pick one over the other. In the end, I thought Authentic Aura's pedigree had a bit more of proven breeding strength to it in that True Enough has produced more than Frontier, who currently only has the fantastic Nightshade to his name. Red Hot Secret has got rising producers in his pedigree and is fascinating, but doesn't have the outward pedigree class of the top two.
Congrats to Isa on the reserve to Fleet Street!
