To put it simply, Ace is a ridiculous horse. He has no sense of personal space and will crowd right into your bubble without realizing it or caring. Sometimes it comes off as him imposing on others; other times, it's more like he's just completely unaware of everything going on around him. In particular, Ace loves to "accidentally" step on people's feet and then slobber all over their shoulder while they're trying to get away. Though he'll appear playfully apologetic after any and all such incidences, we all know they're completely on purpose. Ace is oddly affectionate; we were expecting a bit more of a nutjob given his Augusto blood, but we're certainly not complaining. Ace is a big horse who covers ground quickly, seemingly without even realizing it. He has longer legs than expected for a horse and is less bulky than we would have expected, looking more like a slim and agile distance runner. He definitely does prefer distance races, though we've clocked him going just easily and fine at nine furlongs. Ace is the kind of horse you can trust to put in the pasture with another calm minded horse and expect no problems; put him with a reactionary crazy, though, and Ace's "accidental" posturing becomes more purposeful and aggressive. Ace is typically a simple horse to handle who just requires a bit of tolerance on the part of his rider in order to form a truly successful jockey-horse partnership.
Leg Type: Mid Pack
Ace doesn't want to be up there with the speed demons or at the back pretending to take his time during a race. Instead, Ace likes to be in the middle of things. He'll break unhurriedly, find his favorite spot in the field - typically smack dab in the thick of it - and bide his time until the final quarter or so. Ace is the kind of horse who is perfect at accelerating off a turn. He has a fine sense of balance and just seems to suddenly be propelled forward when he pounds off the turn, growing wings and putting it all on the line for the stretch drive. Ace is most alive in the stretch, his favorite place to run. He handles his turns but truly stretches out and hits his best gear at tracks with deep stretches. Ace is easy enough to handle during a race and requires little piloting on the part of his rider. He handles crowds and noise well and has no problem at all with large fields - in fact, we think he may even prefer them. Ace is the kind of horse who gets adorably confused in the winner's circle - he has no real idea why he's there or why there are cameras flashing, but he'll take the extra attention showered on him all the same.
