Sire: Silent Fury [BHoF Grand Silence x HoF Rising Fury]
Dam: HoF Bella Luna [Sea Struck x Majestic Wind]
Amber Black would never let her annoyance with Battle Brook's Bella Luna capturing the Turf Triple Crown before a Stride Of Perfection horse get in the way of a good breeding deal. Shortly after snagging the reserve, she was faced with the question - what stud would be best to breed to such a classy turf mare? The answer was Silent Fury, a horse virtually unstoppable in his final season on the track by much-loved SOPS foundation sire Grand Silence and out of the equally loved mare from Star Thoroughbreds, Rising Fury. Though Silent Fury and Bella Luna raced at different times and never met on the track, their obvious class made their match-up a clear choice.
Racing Bio
Classification: Grade Four
Dirt: Good
Turf: Great
Distance: 9-12 Furlongs
Notes: No special extensions applied
Silent Fury was the type of runner who had to be kept away from other horses when on the track due to his deadly nature. Bella Luna was more gentle in nature, more prone to spook than to bite. Noche is neither his sire nor his dam. He prefers fight to flight, but doesn't pick fights. Noche likes to be left on his own. He's a loner type who likes peace, quiet, and occasionally classical music in the mornings when the feed is being brought out. He's self-contained and has never displayed any obvious vices. Nothing seems to startle Noche - he's either very observant, or just that unafraid of the world. We think it is the latter. Noche has no problems with others and can even brush off a horse getting mouthy or annoying with him. He doesn't feel the need to defend or stand up for himself until push comes to shove and action becomes necessary. His quiet nature, however, doesn't mean he'll let himself be bullied; he simply prefers brushing things off than reacting angrily to every thing that goes wrong or annoys him. Noche is certainly much quieter and easier to handle than we expected - or at least, that's the case off the track. He's handsome to look at and a true groom's favorite due to his quiet nature, as well as a betting favorite due to a combination of pedigree and innate class that he can't even try to hide when in motion.
Leg Type: Variable (Stalker Preference)
Noche is a point-and-shoot type of racehorse. He's a bit hard to handle before a race, sweating up a bit and eyeing up the other horses with his Rising Fury blood pumping through his veins, but get him onto the turf and he'll settle right back down, warming up in picture-perfect fashion. Noche's greatest strength is his innate ability to just not be bothered by whatever conditions he finds himself in once the gates open. He'll initially go for a position just behind the leaders unless cued otherwise, using his innately tactical speed to track the pace for the majority of the race before unfurling his legs and going for broke in the stretch. With a lot of speed up front - or not enough, even - Noche will transform into a willing front runner, clicking off reasonable fractions and by no means asserting suicidal control over the pace. Put a lot of pace up front, and Noche will naturally hold back slightly, guided by his intelligent jockey to let the pace burn before making his move. The colt is truly both classy and willing enough to do it all.
