Height: 16.2hh
Color: Chestnut
Gender: Female
Sire: Spotlight Pride [Deathflash's Pride (Deathflash x Pure Grace) x On To The Spotlight (BHoF Dancing in the Moonlight x BHoF On To Dancing)]
Dam: Cyclonaria [Sand Storm x Mystical Sunrise]
Ever since Cyclonaria made clear her dominating nature over the turf miles, we went on the hunt for perfect stallions to complement her with. Our eyes, naturally, were drawn to Spotlight Pride. Out of our very own On To The Spotlight with lines to our foundation stock, it made sense to consider the talented stallion, especially looking at how both he and Cy were able to expand beyond their miler specialty range, with Spotlight Pride trending up to eleven furlongs and Cyclonaria trending as low as six. Lorelei is the product of this speedy combination, and she's already proven she can almost do it all.

Lorelei's birth was like a bolt of lightning to the heart. Born a shockingly beautiful shade of chestnut similar to her parents' own coloring, we were curious to see how similar or different Lei would be. It's safe to say that Lei is an even mix of both her parents. She has the reactive tendencies of her sire, tending to spook or notice literally everything in the vicinity and opt for flight over fight every time, but she also has the willfulness and determination of her dam, firmly believing things should be her way or the highway - at least until something startles her again, anyway, and she takes off in the other direction as though her tail is on fire. Lei is a bit of an oddball and requires constant stimulation. Jolly balls are her favorite; she could easily spend hours playing with and mouthing one. An energetic creature, Lei is the type of horse who needs a lot of space or else she'll go insane. She also likes things to be shaken up every now and again. Routine may as well be her mortal enemy. To keep Lei in top shape, she should be worked out frequently, but never the same kind of workout over and over again. You'd also do well to keep her off the dirt; Lei detests the surface, and will be scratched if any of her races ever get switched over to the dirt due to weather conditions.
Leg Type: Front of the Pack
Lei is a horse who finds everything both terrifying and entertaining when out on the track. She'll want to spook at everything, but she'll also want to hone in on her competition and be wrapped up in the sensations and noise of it all. Big fields, small fields, no field - Lei is always entertained when she's out on the turf. She has an energetic way of moving that sweeps her up the track in no time at all. Lei is a blinkers-on kind of filly. She'll break like lightning, but placing her in a race is all about holding her attention. There's no place better for that than right in the thick of things at the front of the pack. She doesn't want to lead, doesn't want to press the leaders, and doesn't want to come from off the pace; no, Lei is the kind who will place herself in the middle, spend the race having a good time, and get serious at the end. The minute she's given her cue, Lei will start to roll, becoming a chestnut blur seeking nothing less than the victory. While Lei isn't the dueling type her mother was, she is incredibly competitive and never takes losses easily.
