What do you get when a combine a horse who is the only carrier of his lines in the game with a mare who carries some of the game's most famous? That's what we sought to discover with this pairing. TDI Live This Lie has always been a unique outcross. After giving us a hearty turf runner in the form of Excalibur's Stone and a tough dirt runner in the form of Animatia, we knew we needed to add some precocity to the package. In comes Dysphoria, whose first foal Gala Royale posted knockout two and three year old seasons (including two Canadian Triple Crown leg victories). Fabricate came out looking just like his sire, armed with the dirt running tendencies of both his parents, and we're eager to see whether what we have here is another classic runner or a horse who will prefer miling.

Fabricate is a liar. He wasn't just named to hint at his sire, oh no - he was named very specifically because of how deceptive he can be. On the outside, Fab looks quite innocent and ordinary. He's a lighter shade of gray than most, true, and he's quite fine boned and princely in appearance, with a certain kind of fragility to him, but Fabricate transcends these simple physical characteristics. The horse is tough, much tougher than he looks, and likely the smartest colt born to his lines. Fab is frighteningly intelligent; he doesn't spook at new things, instead taking the time to absorb exactly what they are. In terms of fight or flight, he's definitely on the fight side, because flight from something he doesn't understand is simply not in the cards. In terms of deception, well, Fabricate knows how to fake something. He is smart enough to know precisely how to freak his humans out without getting freaked out by something himself. His favorite trick? Stare at something seemingly far away and ignore everything around him, leaving you wondering exactly what the thing he's staring at is. Plot twist: it's absolutely nothing, and Fab is just pretending that there is in fact something, just to be difficult. There are times when Fab just relishes being hard to handle and annoying. He's not mean spirited and will definitely never harm you, but he is very annoying when he wants to be. Otherwise easy to handle, Fab only displays a stubborn streak when he's in precisely the right mood and appears to get along well enough with his own kind.
Leg Type: Deceptive "Front Runner"
Fab is a well-behaved boy on the tracks. Like a gentleman, he won't give anybody any issues in the saddling paddock nor when being warmed up. Fab is all about being a good boy out there - and it's all part of the plan. By being overlooked, Fab plays up the biggest deception of all, as he is actually the horse that everybody should be watching out for. The minute he enters the gates, Fab uses the hiding spot provided by the contraption to, well, transform. A certain sharpness seems to take over; the horse that breaks from the gate is not the same one that entered it. Fab breaks like lightning and sweeps to the front except, well, not quite. Fab will "take the lead", if taking the lead means placing himself right next to the horse that's trying to take the lead and occasionally taking it from him or her. Think of it this way: the front runner breaks and sets the pace, and Fab follows in their shadow, occasionally harassing them by flitting up to take the lead as he pleases. He's honestly a preceder type that hides as a front runner, as he's always barely in or right off the lead. Get him to the final turn, though, and Fab will go, sweeping up in the ultimate performance to take the lead he's been ransoming all along and galloping away to bring the race home.
