Height: 15.3hh
Color: Bay
Gender: Female
Pedigree: Raider x Djerba's Sunshine
Armina is a gift mare from Intrepid Racing during the last years of their presence in Final Furlong. Her sire Raider's racing record is not well known, but as a sire of sires his ability is without question. Raider is the sire of Frontier, who himself is the sire of Hall Of Fame inductee Nightshade as well as successful racehorses Silent Front, Gold Rush, and Night Terror. Armina carries a similar legacy of producing excellence from her dam Djerba's Sunshine, who is also mother to Sun Chaser. Sun Chaser's foals include Hall of Fame inductee Anodyne, Prince of Wales winner Firestorm, and racehorses Jazzasoleil and Alcyone. Armina brings two successful producers of producers together into one compact, deadly package.

Armina is the shit. From the moment she was born and shipped to Stride Of Perfection, this girl has demanded nothing less than royal, queenly treatment. Are you grooming her? It better be for a good twenty minutes, because Armina will tolerate nothing less than a thorough cleaning that leaves her meticulous and massaged. Working her out? Better let Armina run on her own, as she'll rarely tolerate there being another horse anywhere near her. She simply considers herself far too good for the company of others, and carries a deadly bite to match her cold, imperious temper. Armina is no one's favorite to saddle and handle, but she is certainly a track favorite. Lightning fast, cold in appearance, but regally built, there's no denying that Armina is one fine horse to look at. She's not for the faint of heart and will absolutely destroy the unwary, but for those who can match her boldness and her zeal, Armina is a fast companion. She'll never quite be friends with any other living being on this planet - the barn cats excepted - but she can be a great horse to race provided she knows and respects you. Given proper care and that respect, Armina will be the queen. She looks somewhat like her famous relatives when working out in the mornings, all precise and deadly control with effortless fractions that look all too easy.
Leg Type: Closer
Armina does not like to get up close and personal on the track. She'd rather forge her own path until the later stages of the race. Paddock saddling, post parade, gating - you'd better let her handle it all under her own power if you want to keep your limbs attached. Armina does not take to being handled and is a consummate professional until someone tries to lay a hand on her. She does not take to direction in her pre-race activities very well and we've learned early on to let the dark bay have her way, at least at first. Once loaded, Armina focuses intently on the task at hand - dominating the competition. She might break half a beat later than her competitors, but it's all so that she can settle at the back, simply coasting for the majority of the race and letting the others tire themselves out with their meaningless fighting. Put Armina ten to fifteen lengths back and she won't panic, maintaining her effortless cool all until the final turn. Then, you'll see why Armina wasn't concerned at all with that gap between herself and the others - she'll accelerate suddenly, release her surprisingly ground-eating stride, and swallow up ground as though the others are standing still. There's no denying Armina in her closing charge - you can fight all you want, and Armina will relish your defeat as she glides past, making it look all too easy as she opens up on the rest of the field.
