Basics
Horse Name: Behemoth
YOB: Y19
Height: 16.2hh
Color: Bay
Gender: Male
Pedigree: Devil's Blessing x Something Fierce
Behe was a spur-of-the-moment purchasing decision. The colt looked fairly impressive in the sales ring, and Amber Black decided to introduce some new blood into the barn by taking him in. Out of two created parents, there's no denying the refreshed sigh that passes Amber's lips when she looks at his pedigree. Her purchase wasn't quite without merit, though. Devil's Blessing is the sire of HoTY-winning juvenile Lucifer, while all of Something Fierce's older foals - Socialite, Disturbia, and The Blitz - have become HoTY winners over the turf, particularly at the mile distance. Behemoth is the continuation of this legacy, and by all appearances he'll certainly live up to it.

Behemoth is the eye-catching prince of the barn. He doesn't act arrogant with others, but is ultra gorgeous to look at, from his gorgeous pink nose to his eye-catching white leggings that perfectly match his existing white stockings. Behe's smooth lines and calm attitude are akin to that of a horse born to greatness with the talent to match. The bay gets along with everyone, from those with the worst of attitudes to others with sweeter personalities like his own. He is tolerant of loud noises, rock as well as classical music, and the occasional antics of some of the more crazy horses around the barn. His attitude is refreshing considering how nuts some of the others are. Behe often acts like a much older horse than he is. He was never difficult to break or train, instead taking to everything with calm curiosity, always with intelligence glimmering behind his eyes. He has the build of a true-born turf horse - believe us, we'd know - and a willingness to run that outpaces almost every horse on the roster. Behe loves to work out, be it for a short sprint or a leisurely two mile gallop, and is often the first one brought out in the mornings. He adjusts to his surroundings quickly and is amenable to almost any condition, though the horse absolutely does not like to run over the dirt and will probably never run at his best over the surface. Behe's odd flaw is his terror of baths. He doesn't like the look of the hose, despises the feel of cold water on his back, and will do almost anything possible to cleverly sidestep the spray of water aimed towards him, all because he fully hates the experience. He's a horse who needs baths administered via washcloth, and will stand as long as necessary during those, but a full-on water bath is almost impossible for him to tolerate.
Leg Type: Stalker
Behemoth is the kind of horse who looks classy in the post parade, breaks without pause, and takes a spot at the front of the pack while dodging the lead. He's a smooth mover who likes to cruise at a high pace, but prefers to lay just off the front and bide his time for a while along the inside rail. The inside is where Behe enjoys being, not just for the shorter trip but also because he has an agile way of moving that belies his ability to slip through spots and move tactically during a race. His rider can employ maximum tactical jockeying with him and expect a horse compliant to what is asked, able to react quickly and occasionally even take the initiative to seal a gap or find a new place with plenty of running room. Behe will cruise for the majority of the race and begin to move up once halfway through, gliding up to the leaders and hovering there. He will not take the race and run away with it, however, until the final quarter. Behe is known around the barn for his blistering final quarter, often his fastest by a wide margin compared to all other quarters he's run. He knows how to turn on the gas and run away when asked, and has zero issues with leaving his competitors far behind as soon as possible.
