Missy is the trickiest filly ever. One minute, she's playfully sweet and not minding anyone, not even dogs. If you fall for it, though, brace yourself. This lady will transform into a demanding, aggressive horse, wanting everything and expecting everything. Feed her a carrot, and she'll demand two more, then four, and the numbers continue to double. If you mount her and she doesn't know you, or even if she does, the ride will end with her being riderless if you don't watch what you're doing. Missy is an eager racehorse. All you have to focus on and watching how fast she runs so she doesn't burn out. She's our best racehorse right now, winner of many races of prestige, and the surge of wins is continuing in her four year old season, where there is no horse that can stop her as she rides the wind to flash under the wire. This year, we've noticed a rivalry spark in her. She gets beaten by one horse, be it by a nose or a whisker, and she's savagely furious in the works following. In her next race with that rival, no one can touch her, no one can beat her, her fury is so great. It's astonishing to see how much she's grown, physically and mentally. She's now an average sized mare with a huge kick. She enjoys stalking the leaders and then picking them off at the end, when they're putting on full speed but just can't best her windswept hooves. Missy doesn't need a whip to respond, all she needs is a good bond with her rider and respect, as well as open rein. When dealing with her you should be respectful, or something will happen to you. Mark my words, you don't want to get on her bad side.
Missy has proven herself over and over on the track of her turf prowess. After an outstanding season we have made the decision to retire her. She will now serve on our breezing partner group and broodmare band every other season. It seems as though she will be a breezing partner this retirement season, as the stud we want for her is still racing. Missy will enjoy being a breezing partner. It's all about beating the others in training until they become better, after all.
