Desiree is born from champion bloodlines. Her sire Sweet Sugar Cane won the Breeder's Cup Sprint. He was sweet as sugar, much like his name, but he flared up in the presence of mares. Her grandsire Augusto is legendary, one of the most fiery horses ever known to sim. Augusto sired Augusta, a mare known to be the fastest Rockstar Racing [her owner] has ever seen. Augusta won the Breeder's Cup Sprint too, and the Breeder's Cup Classic. Luckily for us, Requiem was the calmest of the Augusto foals, and combined with Sweet Sugar Cane we were looking for a fine, calm filly. Not so.
Desiree is as deadly as her name. She is quiet and calculating, and the aura around her is menacing. She really is quite sweet and nice with people she knows, but gaining her trust is like cutting your fingers off. You have to prove many things to her before she'll even let you approach. Once you can touch her satin black coat you have to prove that you're the leader in the situation, and then she'll let you up on her back to feel her speed. Our desires have been achieved, however. Desiree is as fast as her bloodlines suggest. We've definitely got a deadly sprinter on our hands. When Desiree runs, all you have to do is hold on. She's a front runner, but she has inherited plenty of sprint stamina. She can hold her top speed for a very long time. And when it comes to the races, she calculates the field and uses her surprisingly intelligent senses to race and win. But after the races, it's back to moody, menacing Desiree, who lets only a chosen few approach.
