Coney is an unusual horse. He is an oddball, lacking the powerful take-no-prisoners attitude that many others of this crop boast. But Coney does not fade into the background like Nero does; his quiet is a different sort of quiet. Coney epitomizes quiet brilliance. He is not very vocal or physical, but when he chooses to be he can easily steal the spotlight. And people are most likely to take notice of Coney when he does something exceedingly smart, like breaking out of his triple-locked stall or just managing to hold his head at the right angle for grooms to have a hard time tacking him up. His brilliance can be hard to find due to his quiet nature, but it is most assuredly there. Coney is more of a passive horse than aggressive, and he is not prone to asserting his dominance in any way or seeking affection and companionship. He doesn't mind being around other horses and humans, but he doesn't pine for their company either. He is a solitary horse capable of functioning with others if necessary. However, Coney does enjoy attention if it is lavished upon him, and he is able to express affection towards his rider. And once that bond is firmly established, there is no place that Coney will not go. He places complete trust in his rider and will go down fighting every time in order to please.
Leg Type: Variable
Coney is smart. Coney is tactical. Coney is the military strategist brought to the track in horse form. He is intelligent enough to adapt to any situation and deal with almost anything a race will throw at him. Conditions not to his liking? Coney will find a way to adjust so that it does not stand in his way. Breaking too far on the outside? Coney will adjust his racing style to suit this. Pace too fast in the front? Coney will find a way to press this to his advantage. The complete depths of Coney's brilliance are on full display on the track. He never seems to have a bad ride and never seems to have an off day. However, despite his strategy, having the right rider on his back is very important to Coney. Without Henna, Coney would not try as hard and would be more likely to fold in seemingly impossible situations. But with Henna in the irons, Coney transforms into a force that may as well be unstoppable. Nothing will stop Coney from pleasing that rider with a win. So while Coney warms up quietly and appears to be a long shot from the moment he appears on the track, he actually proves to be the most deadly force in the field when they hit the final stretch and he blows the race wide open with perfect placement and a perfect ride.
