Basics
Horse Name: Call of the Wild
YOB: Y11
Height: 16hh
Color: Bay
Gender: Male
Pedigree: Foolish Lad [Karls Nickel x BHoF Foolish Entity] x HoF BHoF Wild Flower
Call is a colt with a good nature and a touch of cunning. His good nature no doubt comes from his sire, one of the nicest horses we've ever had in the barn. However, Call inherited his cunning from his Hall Of Fame dam. Unlike many horses, Call does not automatically use his intelligence just to get the better of others. Sure, if he dislikes you you'll be in for it, but it's hard for him to hate you. Call likes people and other horses. He likes to socialize and please. His favorite thing is getting treats or a good grooming. Call is almost never mean tempered, except if another male challenges him. Call's male instincts rise to the occasion, and he does not back down from this challenge. It is instinctive, after all, for a male horse to respond to such a challenge for dominance. He is also a very strong horse, which gives him an advantage. Call would never intentionally hurt somebody else. He doesn't like to cause pain, and will never go farther than a small nip on the hand if somebody does something he doesn't like. He is easy to handle and a joy to care for. But while it is hard to get on Call's bad side, it isn't impossible. And if you are, watch out - Call's personality will become something else entirely.
Leg Type: Closer
Call doesn't have the fastest break in the world. That, and the fact that he is quite cunning, makes him an excellent closer. He's not the one that starts going for the lead right at the finish, though. Call makes his move early on, slowly gaining speed. He likes to take his time and enjoy the race. On the subject of racing, Call likes the opportunity to please his jockey and utilize his skills. He likes to race because it requires some intelligence, and also because he genuinely enjoys running. The closing style suits his easy going temperament. While racing, Call is still pliable beneath a rider's hand. However, he doesn't need the rider in order to race well. He has good racing instincts and could easily ride himself in a race if he had to. His jockey acts more as a safeguard to make sure everything goes smoothly during the race.
