Prince takes after his fierce mother Midnight Thriller in many ways, which may or may not be a good thing. He is a hard-to-handle combination of iron will and sheer determination. This means that if he wants to do something and he sets his mind to it, well, he's going to do it and there's nothing you can do about it. His way is THE way, or it simply isn't good enough. He is the walking definition of confidence and will, utterly fearless even if faced with new situations. As well as mentally strong, he is physically powerful, and together this makes him one of the toughest horses around. He knows he's tough, and he uses it to make everybody else back down, horse or human. He is fiercely insistent and pushy, and his nature makes him high-maintenance. But despite all of this, Prince has his moments. No horse can hold a candle to his speed when he sets his mind to it and focuses. He is well known for his paddock runs - if there's a place where Prince is more a horse than anywhere else, it's the paddock. He tears up and down that fence like it's a real race and looks like poetry in motion as he does so.
Leg Type: Closer
Unsurprisingly, Prince is not an easy horse to ride. He is a vicious competitor, rarely accepting defeat quietly. If he crosses that line anywhere but ahead, expect a sore loser likely to bite at other horses rather than walk away quietly. He visibly deflates when he loses and hides that with under an even more fierce and aggressive attitude than usual. If his jockey does not assert themselves, he will control the race, not them. Good thing Black Thriller is essentially the epitome of Valencia Andrews during her younger days. Before a race, Prince is blazing hot. He is flashy and hard to control, but it's all for show. He loads with some difficulty, playing with the gate handlers for the fun of it, before breaking like a shot the minute the gates open. He would wire races if he wanted, but his speed is most effectively employed as a closer. If held back for the duration of the race and let loose in the last quarter mile, his closing move is so intense and blisteringly fast that the horses at the front are going to need open daylight if they're going to escape him. When Prince comes hunting you down, you need just as much heart and will as he has in order to win.
