Basics
Horse Name: Sweet Inferno
YOB: Y11
Height: 16hh
Color: Black
Gender: Female
Pedigree: Crooked Fire x HoF Sweet Stalker
Year Thirteen Encouragement Award
Sweetie has an overpowering personality. She is a brave, bold filly that doesn't take no for an answer. What she wants, she will nag to have. If we were to consider her in terms of Freudian psychology, she'd be dominated by her id. However, there is a sweet side to this filly - in terms of Freud, when her superego comes into play. This sweet side is, interestingly enough, the side she displays when she's on the track, not off of it. Unlike other horses, her sweetness pervades the air on the track, and it is how Sweetie exhibits her competitive spirit. Off the track, the Inferno part of Sweetie's name is in play, and she is like a ruthless fireball. But on the track, she's sweet as sugar. The only conclusion we can draw concerning this is that she feels at peace on the track, as though the open spaces appeal to her and she feels sated out there. We have noticed similar episodes of calm when she's in the huge pasture. Interestingly enough, Sweetie is also most calm at night. One of her favorite things to do is go out for nighttime workouts. This is an interesting trait that has been passed on to her from her dam, picked up by her grandsire Night Stalker. Either way and no matter what part of her personality she is exhibiting, Sweetie is overpowering in her nature. There is just so much energy kept in her form, energy sometimes difficult to control no matter how sweet she's being. She has amazing presence due to this strength of temper.
Leg Type: Front Runner
Sweetie's overpowering temperament, though not seen before a race, is certainly seen while the race is taking place. She breaks like a pro and instantly takes her rightful place at the front of the pack. She lets out all that energy that she holds in and usually tries to take a race wire to wire. Though sometimes too tiring for her, Sweetie plays the race well. She only runs as fast as she needs to in order to maintain a slight lead. If challenged, she will willingly increase the speed, but she's not stupid enough to completely lose her head and just gun it. She knows that her races are longer than a sprint, and she's learned how to run them through workouts. What you'll find in her racing style is the intelligence not to go too far. But when it comes to the stretch, you can count on Sweetie to give it her absolutely all no matter how fast the pace has had to become in order to maintain her lead.
