Anna has a very interesting personality. The most dominant part of it is her competitive spirit. Anna feels an insatiable need to compete. She will compete to outwit her handlers and challenge the horses around her for dominance. She's the lead mare in all situations that she can be. She can be hard to control due to this competitive nature, but it is definitely a plus on the track. Anna is motivated by this spirit, and would be especially motivated if she ever gained a rival on the track. Her second most dominant quality is her determination. Anna doesn't give up in her quest to succeed. If she fails, she just keeps at it until her skills are to her satisfaction. One could call Anna a perfectionist type of horse; if she doesn't win by exactly the right margin or at all, she becomes very moody and holds many grudges. She will continue to hold her grudge until she's beaten the horse that beat her originally. And lastly, Anna is a trickster. Just like her dam before her, Anna is cunning, and she enjoys tricking her competition or her handler. It gives her an additional sense of satisfaction. She loves to "play", in a way, with others. Of course, she only plays with them when she's not competing with them.
Leg Type: Preceder
Anna doesn't like to be too far from the action. If she was placed any farther back than third or fourth in a race, she wouldn't feel very happy. She likes having the majority of the field behind her, with one or two horses ahead to keep her competitive fire sizzling. She prefers to avoid the lead, at least at first, so she can size up her competition. Her rider prefers to avoid the lead as well, so that Anna is as competitive and full of heart as possible by the time she needs to go. Anna is very good at rating her speed to secure her desired position. However, she does not have a knack for getting out of tough spots. Sometimes, she lets her competitive spirit get in the way, doesn't listen to her jockey and ends up being boxed in, which is infuriating for both her and her rider. Anna's got talent, though, from both her sire and her dam, and she will express this talent fully on the track.
